ISO 9001- Three Easy Steps

GC Logicals will agree a site visit to assess your current management systems. Do not worry too much about all the fancy words that are used by auditors and certification bodies, GC Logicals has been making ISO 9001 Simple for more than a decade. We will set you at ease and discuss things in clear terms to give you a clear idea of what is needed to become ISO 9001 certified.

We will look at your business processes and what supporting documentation you have- internal forms, procedures, work instructions etc. If you are contemplating ISO 9001 the chances are you will be pleasantly surprised to realise how much of your existing system already conforms to the standard.

Following this initial assessment GC Logicals would perform gap analysis to identify areas where the business is lacking and then generate the necessary documentation to fill these gaps. This would then lead us into the Stage 1 Audit which is carried out by the Certifying Body.

After we implement the new QMS we would monitor results for a short while and carry out some internal audits to check that everything is running as it should. Any issues would be noted at this point and this is the opportunity for the business to rectify issues and get prepared for the Stage 2 audit.

Once satisfied the Certifying Body would be invited in to carry out a full system audit of the Quality Management System to check that it fulfils the requirements of the standard.

After Stage 1 Audit the Certifying Body either raises issues that need to be rectified or recommends moving towards Stage 2 Audit and certification.

Stage 2 audit by the Certifying Body.

This is the time that the Certifying Body would attend site and carry out a fully fledged audit against the requirements of the ISO 9001 standard.

If successful the Certifying Body will recommend certification and your company will be certified to

BS EN ISO 9001.
